I loved everything about this session- two cute boys, two fun parents, and lots of play time. My favorite structure of sessions with small children is to not plan too much. This first image (one of my favorites) is right as he is trying to break free from his mom to run and play- all that love captured in just a fraction of a second.
Or the one below- I was trying to get him to look right at the camera, but he kept looking over at his little brother playing- and is such a great expression of his character! Around this time of the year when everyone has holiday portraits on their mind I get this questions A LOT, "How do you have the patience to do this?" It can seem like nothing is working because your toddler won't sit her butt down where there is perfect lighting and lovely leaves strewn below- but those in-between moments of her tearing off in the other direction, or looking up at her mama- that's what these sessions are about. Now, if I can woo a toddler to sit down where I want them to and smile, I'd consider my career complete! ;)
Emily (the mom) made the M capes for her whole family for this session- that really is a supermom! Comment below is you love this idea!
