You know those people that you meet and instantly are friendly and lovely? That’s Grace and Scott. I’ll never forget arriving to photograph the guys getting ready, and this guy with the BIGGEST smile opened the door. It was Scott! He was so happy that their wedding day was finally here. Grace had a giant smile on her face all day, and shoGrace and Scott selected The Deer Park Villa in Fairfax as their dream wedding venue for it’s towering redwoods, warm light, and cozy feel to surround all their friends and family for the night. Their wedding was planned to focus on only what they cared about- which happened to be good food, good music, and having all the people they love there with them. The Deer Park Villa is so naturally beautiful, you really need anything to make it one of the most stunning venues around.
If you don’t love them already, just read their engagement story as told by Grace…
“After four years of dating and nearly two years of living together, Scott had planned a weekend trip to Santa Cruz (one of our favorite places to visit) for mid-February. I was absolutely CERTAIN that this was the moment he would propose (he even told me to "pack hiking clothes," so, naturally, I bought cute new workout attire for the undoubtable, perfect, mountain-top proposal, HA!) We had, what I thought, were celebratory dinner plans with my sister and brother-in-law the evening before we were set to leave for Santa Cruz. Scott parked in the parking lot across from Bouchon Bakery in Yountville and we proceeded to walk to our restaurant for dinner. The sun was beginning to set (I KNOW), and Scott suggested we slip into the romantic gardens of The French Laundry restaurant- after all, the kale and brussel sprouts were in full bloom. It was then that Scott turned toward me, got down on one knee, and asked me to be his wife (it all goes blurry in a wonderful, blissful way after that), but a moment later, I turn around and a photographer is snapping our photos, while our ENTIRE FAMILIES proceed to run out from who-knows-where (Zach drove from Cal Poly?! Aunt Pattie came from Sacramento?!), and congratulate us with love and hugs and more love. The entire group then proceeded to dinner, where pre-printed menus and delicious "engagement" bites were prepared, a table for our whole group, music, more photos and laughter. I remember looking around the table and thinking-this is all enough-I could marry this man right here, right now, with this very group!!!”
