One of the first things Karissa told me when we spoke about their wedding at Timber Cove Resort was, “I’m wearing a gold wedding dress, and things are all going to work around that.” I fully support a gold dress, and loved the style Karissa and Jarish brought to their California destination wedding. As a product designer for Restoration Hardware, design and style are no challenge for Karissa.
They prioritized things they cared about, such as the New Orleans style third-line to escort them into cocktail hour, and didn’t include what they didn’t care about, like fresh florals.
When it comes to being a wedding photographer, I see a lot of style and traditions at weddings. What I can truly say will make you happy on your wedding day is doing what you want, and making your priorities come true. You don’t have to do things just because most people do.
PS. When planning your wedding at Timber Cove, using the deck as your cocktail hour space is amazing. It has beautiful elevated views of the rugged coastline, and sets the tone for your coastal wedding vibe.
