My tips for planning the perfect Big Sur engagement session.
1. Be open to the unexpected! The coastline of Big Sur is wild and mercurial. You can plan all you want but you must be open to a dense fog rolling in unexpected, or the wind whipping your styled hair around. It is very much a part of the charm.
2. Have a idea of the locations you would like to stop at, but be prepared for them to be mobbed. The tourist season is year round on the coast and popular spots can get crowded. If you are wanting a specific location like the overlook at the Bixby bridge, best plan a sunrise session, or better yet, a weekday. The further down the coast you go, the less people there are, making Garrapata one of the most visited locations.
3. On that note, plan for weekdays. Weekends are the most crowded times and traffic can back up. You photographer would be happy to plan a time when there are less people to navigate
Good luck and happy planning!
